Therapy is a space to be understood and make changes.
Hi! I’m Amy, a psychotherapist, committed to making therapy a grounding space where people can sort out what is not working, clarify goals, and build the skills that move life forward. I work with men & women who want to strengthen their emotional health, improve communication, develop confidence, and manage stress. Many of my clients are navigating major life transitions, reevaluating personal or professional goals, or learning how to create healthier relationships.
Additionally, I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C) and am passionate about supporting individuals through TTC, fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenthood. I also run community groups for moms throughout the year, both free and paid. You can follow @togetherinbabyhood for upcoming offerings.
I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan and my M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University. My clinical approach is shaped by extensive training in CBT, EMDR, and Perinatal Mental Health.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, pilates, time with family, and travel. I am an East Coaster with deep Michigan pride, an unapologetic dog lover, and someone who takes pretzels far too seriously.

My Approach
Therapy is a space to confront what is not working while supporting your strengths. I believe it is incredibly important to be open and honest with each other, discussing what is working and addressing things when they are not working. I treat sessions as an opportunity to have a dialogue with each other, and also believe in having a good laugh together here and there. Throughout therapy we will uncover core beliefs, explore different perspectives, and make behavioral changes to see what is helpful for you. I also believe in the importance of holding space for thoughts and feelings to be put out there without judgement.
I draw upon CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Psychodynamic interventions combined with mind-body awareness to develop a holistic approach to well-being. Together, we will uncover thought patterns to generate a sense of predictability and understanding, allowing you to respond to situations rather than react. I consider myself a behavioral therapist and see a lot of value in clients taking action and recognizing that they have a choice. I am passionate about helping individuals manage stress and anxiety and am a big advocate for developing self-care, compassion, and coping. I like setting weekly practices together and stress the importance of accountability. Overall, my goal is for therapy to provide a place where you feel understood and capable.
