About Me
My name is Amy and I am a psychotherapist who believes therapy is a supportive, non-judgmental space that allows us to confront what is not working, tackle problems, and understand goals. I work with adults and adolescents who are looking to improve their wellness, manage emotions, develop self-esteem, improve communication, and cope with stress. I see clients who are dealing with life transitions, are trying to understand career/school and personal goals, or are learning how to navigate relationships. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C) and have a particular interest in working with those struggling with TTC, fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infant parenthood.
I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and my M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University. Throughout my career, I have completed trainings particularly focused on CBT, EMDR, and Perinatal Mental Health.
In my free time, I enjoy running, pilates, spending time with family, and traveling. I love dogs! I am an East Coaster at heart, but have a lot of Michigan pride. I have an obsession with pretzels.

My Approach
Therapy is a space to confront what is not working while supporting your strengths. I believe it is incredibly important to be open and honest with each other, discussing what is working and addressing things when they are not working. I treat sessions as an opportunity to have a dialogue with each other, and also believe in having a good laugh together here and there. Throughout therapy we will uncover core beliefs, explore different perspectives, and make behavioral changes to see what is helpful for you. I also believe in the importance of holding space for thoughts and feelings to be put out there without judgement.
I draw upon CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Psychodynamic interventions combined with mind-body awareness to develop a holistic approach to well-being. Together, we will uncover thought patterns to generate a sense of predictability and understanding, allowing you to respond to situations rather than react. I consider myself a behavioral therapist and see a lot of value in clients taking action and recognizing that they have a choice. I am passionate about helping individuals manage stress and anxiety and am a big advocate for developing self-care, compassion, and coping. I like setting weekly practices together and stress the importance of accountability. Overall, my goal is for therapy to provide a place where you feel understood and capable.
